Wills election candidates forum

NOTE: This event is now at full capacity.

Join us for the 2025 Wills election candidates forum!

On the night, you’ll hear straight from the candidates for the seat of Wills what they have to say about:

  • permanent protection for refugees stuck on temporary visas
  • freedom from detention and a real solution for resettlement
  • a universal safety net for all refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia
  • a generous refugee program for those fleeing violence and war

The forum will be moderated by Jana Favero, Deputy CEO and Head of Systemic Change at ASRC.

Peter Khalil (Labor), Samantha Ratnam (Greens), Sue Bolton (Socialist Alliance) and Owen Miller (Fusion Party) have accepted the invitation to attend the forum to explain their policies and answer your questions.

Jeff Kidney (Liberal) has been invited to attend, but has not confirmed.

This will be a chance for candidates to state their positions on our key policy priorities for this election: protection, freedom, safety and humanity for refugees and people seeking asylum.

Come along to show candidates that if they want to represent the people of Wills, they need to listen to their constituents.

The forum is endorsed by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Iranian Women's Association and Amnesty International Australia.

The venue is accessible. If there are other arrangements that can be made to ensure the event is inclusive for you, please let us know.
