Join Us: Protecting Asylum Rights in Australia

Join us next Thursday at 12pm (AEST) as we bring together the refugee advocacy sector and allies beyond it to map out our strategy to protect asylum rights in Australia.

Last week, Minister Burke's National Press Club address confirmed what we feared: the Government's crackdown on the right to seek asylum is not over. A deadline on seeking asylum, the stripping of work rights, and a major expansion of detention and enforcement all remain on the table, with further legislation expected when Parliament returns. All the Government needs is the Coalition's support, and these proposals could become law.

We've shown what's possible when we fight together. Just weeks ago, our joint advocacy helped stop proposed cuts to the humanitarian intake, and we pushed back against an arbitrary asylum deadline alongside more than 100 organisations. But the fight is far from over.

This meeting is a chance to align on strategy and build a unified plan to protect the right to seek asylum, defend work rights, and stop this crackdown before it's too late.

Please RSVP to receive the meeting link, and share within your networks, for other individuals and organisations who may like to join.
