Palm Sunday march
Join us at this year’s Palm Sunday gathering to stand up for justice, kindness, and a fair go for refugees and people seeking asylum.
Palm Sunday is a national day of action for refugees and people seeking asylum, where communities come together in a spirit of peace and welcome. Over 80 different organisations, community and faith groups are behind this year’s gathering in Naarm/Melbourne.
1pm: Gather on Princes Bridge with Riff Raff Marching Band
1.30pm: Arrive at Tom's Block (bring a picnic rug or chair)
2-3pm: Speakers and music
3-3.45pm: Music continues, info and activities with refugee community
With a Federal Election just around the corner, now's the time to stand together and send a clear message to political leaders: voters want fairness and compassion when it comes to the treatment of refugees and people seeking asylum.
This Palm Sunday, let’s join together with refugees, and call on political leaders to reflect our values and embrace policies grounded in humanity, not cruelty.
This event is being organised by the Refugee Advocacy Network, and is supported by ASRC.
