ASRC Masterclass on Effective Political Lobbying
Dear Melbourne CAPP Graduates,
I would like to let you know that we have secured an amazing politician for our long awaited masterclass on Effective Political Lobbying and ways of building pressure on the politicians for positive policy change. I am excited to announce that Samantha Ratnam, the member of the Australian Greens party has generously accepted our invitation to join us in our masterclass that we have organised for you on Saturday 15th of June. This will be an amazing opportunity to directly engage with a politician and ask questions to master you advocacy skills.
Samantha has served as the leader of the Victorian Greens between 2017 and April 2024 in the Victorian Legislative Council in Northern Metropolitan Region. Samantha is still a member of the Victorian Parliament for Northern Metropolitan however, She is looking forward to running for federal seat of Wills Green for the very first time!
We are excited for her to join us and meet our Melbourne CAPP graduate cohorts. Please make sure you lock the date in you calendars to attend this engaging masterclass on such significant topic.
Prior to Samantha's session, our director of Advocacy and Refugee Leadership Ogy Simic, whom most of you have met will give us an overview of the Australian political landscape and the importance of advocacy which will lead us into political engagement session with Samantha.
We will meet at Malvern Library meeting room at 11:30 am for a light refreshment and meet and greet. Ogy's session will start at 12:00pm for an hour and at 01:00pm we will welcome Samantha for her presentation for another hour.
We will have lunch around 02:00pm followed by taking an advocacy action on ASRC's website!
If you have any questions please reach out to me.
Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
Best wishes
