A fair process for seeking asylum is a basic human right. Among other things, that means a chance to present your case well, with the help of a lawyer, during the interview stage.
But after dragging their heels for 8 years, the government has suddenly, and without warning, decided to ram through the remaining 1100 interviews in just two months. For context, the ASRC normally supports 10 interviews per month.
Clearly this is an unfair rush-job which will result in poor and wrong decisions. And the result will be that people who should receive protection will instead be forcibly returned to danger.

Demand she cancel their unfair plan to rush through over 1000 refugee protection interviews, and give people enough time to prepare their case with legal support.
TIP: the most effective messages to politicians are those in your own words. Focus on speaking from your heart and values.
Everyone deserves the chance to present their case for refugee protection in a fair manner. That means having enough time to prepare, and access to legal support for an extremely complex process.
This will inevitably result in the wrong decisions being made. The implication of that is that people who should receive protection will instead be forcibly returned to danger.
The Government should cancel their unfair plan to rush through over 1000 refugee protection interviews, and give people enough time to prepare their case with legal support.
