Kooyong election candidates forum

Join us for the 2025 Kooyong election candidates forum!

On the night, you’ll hear straight from the candidates for the seat of Kooyong what they have to say about:

  • permanent protection for refugees stuck on temporary visas
  • freedom from detention and a real solution for resettlement
  • a universal safety net for all refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia
  • a generous refugee program for those fleeing violence and war

The forum will be moderated by Jana Favero, Deputy CEO of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

Monique Ryan (Ind), Jackie Carter (Greens) and Clive Crosby (ALP) have accepted the invitation to attend the forum to explain their policies and answer your questions.

Other candidates been invited to attend, but have not yet confirmed.

This will be a chance for candidates to state their positions on our key policy priorities for this election: protection, freedom, safety and humanity for refugees and people seeking asylum.

Come along to show candidates that if they want to represent the people of Kooyong, they need to listen to their constituents.

The forum is hosted by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Amnesty International Australia, Kooyong Grandmothers for Refugees and Armadale Baptist Church.
